In early 2020 Dan and I decided to ask our friends and family to donate presents one would usually get for a child turning one. We knew we wanted to connect with local families to share our experience and bring joy to others but we had no clue where to begin! Luckily during the short time Bridget was with us, we met many wonderful, helpful people. We talked to Cathy Cerutti, a clinical social worker in the Pediatric Cardiology department at Morristown Hospital, who linked us with Beenish and her son Abyaan. And since we received so many toys, clothes, books, etc. for both boys and girls, we had plenty left over to donate to Overlook Hospital for other young children.
Our dear friends Kevin and Justen have a son named Caden who shares his birthday with Bridget. They declined all gifts for their son and instead used Caden’s birthday party to collect additional items to donate in Bridget’s honor. We can’t even begin to thank our friends and families for their generous contributions. And Caden deserves an extra special thank you for sharing his party with his birthday buddy, Bridget!
