Bridget Nora Hale
2.18.19 – 3.21.19
Bridget was only with us for 31 days, but the gifts she left us will last the rest of our lives. We have created this website as a way to share those gifts with the world. You can read more about Bridget and Trisomy 18 here.
Gifts From Bridget Birthday Collection
When you have a child you expect to spend the rest of your life caring for them, helping them learn, and making memories. One of the most difficult parts of losing a newborn is recognizing all of the future experiences you will be missing out on. For example, celebrating Bridget’s birthday and opening all of the presents she would have received from family and close friends. We could not think of a better way to honor her than to continue accepting those gifts and sharing them with others. So each year we collect gifts for the age Bridget would have been. We then connect with a family who receives these “Gifts From Bridget”. For more information about this year’s birthday collection click here.
Warrior Challenges
Bridget was born with severe heart defects due to her Trisomy 18. We did not opt for any interventions, we couldn’t bear the thought of her having to spend her entire life on machines. She was only expected to live for hours but somehow fought to stay with us for 31 days. We watched Bridget get the most she could out of her little body and vowed to do the same with ours. Each year, on the anniversary of her passing, Dan attempts a challenging physical feat in honor of Bridget. On March 21, 2020 he walked 31 miles. Then on March 21, 2021 he rowed 31 miles. On March 21,2022 Dan and Justin did 31 sets of 31 push-ups. Then on March 21, 2023 Dan, Justin, and Kevin hiked 31 miles. On March 21, 2024 Dan completed 31 laps of a farmers carry around a soccer field and Nick and Jake joined in for many of them! Check out the links below for more information on all of the challenges!
